A new project with a practical purpose.
prompt_action believes that Generative AI holds the potential to break down many of the societal and environmental barriers that currently exclude people with disabilities, or those excluded from society, from full participation.
Rather than viewing disability and exclusion as limitations within the individual, our approach recognises that it is often businesses’ and society’s failure to accommodate differences—through inaccessible technology, complex language, or simply an overwhelming focus on the majority—that disables and excludes people.
By empowering individuals with accessible and powerful AI tools along with the practical skills to use them, we focus on removing these obstacles, promoting independence, and enabling everyone to access AI opportunities on equal terms.

Accessible learning materials
Simple, plain English support materials, live demonstrations and take-home ‘top tips’ guides
Train-the-trainer model
The service will transition towards a train-the-trainer model, enabling charities and community organisations to deliver training themselves.
Tailored AI assistants
Longer term, the team will develop fine-tuned AI assistants designed around the specific needs of these groups and services.
Access to tools
Participants will need access to internet-enabled smartphones, tablets, or computers to use the Generative AI tools effectively. The partnering charity or organisation identifying participants will be responsible for organising and facilitating access to suitable devices, whether the participants’ own, through loan schemes, shared facilities, or donations.
